Broomfield Bird Blind

Our proposal for a site specific installation in Broomfield, CO creates a space of reflection on the border between areas reserved for natural and human activity. Based on our interest in local songbirds the concept of a “nest” became the foundation of this design. As a nest, it would sit lightly on the landscape, appearing to be supported by the wild grasses around it. It would provide enclosure for people to sit and interact with each other, or to observe the landscape around them. Functioning like a bird-blind, it would mediate the interaction between humans and wildlife, ensuring the comfort of both.
